A Black and White Damask Wedding in Winnipeg

Brandy and Elliot’s dramatic reception was inspired by her unconventional wedding dress. She was determined to find a non-white wedding gown in Winnipeg—and it was no easy feat. Brandy searched high and low until she came across her dream dress, a stunning Justin Alexander gown that was everything she imagined for her big day. “That dress was waiting for me,” Brandy shares. With the perfect dress in hand, it was time to find a venue that fit the bill. Eventually, Brandy and Elliott decided on The Fairmont Winnipeg to host their glamorous black and white damask celebration. The couple’s centrepieces were comprised of ostrich feathers, and candles gave the room a romantic glow. And when it came time for their first dance, Brandy and Elliot had an atypical love song in mind. They selected Randy Newman’s “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” as their wedding song. “We wanted something funny and cute,” Brandy recalls with a smile.
