A "Big Brother Canada" Star's Wedding

When Adel and Abby first met on Facebook, they had no idea that they had a lot more in common than a few mutual friends. But once they began exchanging messages, they knew their chemistry was special. "When we met in person, our compatibility and connection was undeniable. We knew it!" Abby remembers.

After years of dating, the pair reached a make-or-break moment when Adel left to star in the reality TV show Big Brother Canada. The experience only made their relationship stronger, and he took Abby ring shopping as soon as he arrived home. "We had a get-together with about 80 guests and Adel performed a lip sync to John Legend’s song 'All of Me' and went down on one knee to propose," Abby remembers.

For their wedding day, the couple chose a white and gold colour scheme to create a romantic yet traditional feel. "Gold represented depth and tradition, the white represented purity," Abby explains. Other details like opulent floral centrepieces and a luxurious white and gold tiered cake added to the classic theme of the event.

Abby says that for her, the day both began and ended with highlights. "The top moments were when Adel and I united and saw each other for the first time that day and when we left for the night as hundreds of our guests gathered at the entrance to say goodbye," she remembers.

To fit with the traditional theme of the wedding, Abby and Adel chose a meaningful Arabic song for their first dance. "The title of the song 'Sadiny Khalas' translates into 'believe me'. The meaning behind the song is that we found a love that is so beautiful, and nothing can compare to how it has filled our hearts, and only the most beautiful words can come out of a love like that; we were created for each other," Abby explains.
