Family and antique seaside were a common theme at Erin and Andy’s celebration of love. “We’ve found that in these trying times of COVID-19, the importance of family has really been the centre of our thoughts, and how lucky we are that everyone in our family has remained healthy,” the two disclose.
As an avid antique collector, a hobby passed down by both of Erins’ parents, Erin knew she wanted to include many items from her own personal collection as well as family heirlooms to their special day. And, with their venue being in a family cabin that backed onto a beach, a seaside motif seemed like a natural fit. “There’s a view of a lighthouse from the cabin, and we love just sitting out there watching the sailboats sail by, so we included the montage throughout our stationery and cake topper,” Erin shares. As an ode to 2020, Erin and Andy commissioned a cake topper with the motto ‘Love Isn’t Cancelled’.
With 12 of their nearest and dearest in attendance, the two tied the knot outdoors followed by a relaxing reception under the stars. “It was so wonderful to have our closest people surrounding us with no pressure or timeline,” Erin reminisces. “We just took in every moment of the evening, including a late night boogey dance from my father-in-law that had us all in stitches.”
