For food enthusiasts Arielle and Wayne, a menu filled with their favourite dishes was a must for their rustic wedding. “Wayne, a former chef, is a business development manager for a local food company,” Arielle explains. “We love nothing more than great food and sharing it with our family and friends.” Needless to say, on their rustic wedding day the two created a feast for their 120 guests at Fort Gibraltar, a historic site known for its woodsy feel and reputation for good cuisine. “We chose family style serving, so everyone shared from big dishes in the middles of the tables. It’s how we eat at home and we really wanted that to reflect us,” Arielle shares. “We served three courses, one being ham, which is a little non-traditional, but it’s a favourite for both of us.” To end the day, the pair had one more culinary treat in mind. “Wayne made all the favours. He spent six months making different types of our favourite preserves from rhubarb jam to spicy baby carrots,” Arielle exclaims. “They were straight from the heart and everyone loved them.”
