Loretta and Johnny first met when they were kids in the same class in elementary school. "We lost touch for a few years and were reintroduced by my brother-in-law, who was his good friend," Loretta recalls.
Loretta, who frequently travels to Italy, was thrilled when Johnny proposed at her favourite Italian spot, The Ponte Vecchio. "He gave his cellphone to a stranger. I thought he was going to take our photo until Johnny got down on one knee—we have the entire moment captured on film," Loretta smiles.
For their wedding, Loretta knew she wanted her theme to encompass her love of everything gold. "Since our ceremony and reception were both at One King West, we decided to incorporate two colour palettes, as if guests were at two separate venues," Loretta explains. "For our ceremony we went all white and green for an ethereal feel; and for our reception we combined navy and gold into our elements and added a pop of fuchsia to act as a contrast throughout all the florals," Loretta shares.
The couple's wedding song was “Please Forgive Me” by Bryan Adams. "Ever since I was a little girl I knew this was going to be my wedding song. I even made a book when I was a teenager and I remember printing the lyrics and writing that it would be the song," Loretta says. "And it stuck!"
"Johnny’s giggle during the ceremony was definitely one of the highlights of the day for me," Loretta grins. "During our vows, Johnny was to repeat after my aunt, who acted as our officiant. But, he got a bit nervous, which caused him to stumble on some words and smile at me. It was such a genuine moment!"
