The big news at Weddingbells this month: the launch of our Fall & Winter 2020 issue which you can now find on newsstands and Apple News+. Pardon the pun but this issue truly was a labour of love for our team. It was our first one done remotely and a few logistical challenges along the way but we are thrilled with the results and hope you enjoy the issue too.

I have spent a lot of time talking about the new normal of weddings as we have moved through the pandemic and the past five months. As we know COVID-19 has affected the wedding industry tremendously but the news is not all bad. In fact, there is a wonderful upside that has emerged: how weddings are being recalibrated and adapted to the times. Though large gatherings are off the table for the foreseeable future, we know small can be mighty and we continue to focus both our digital and print content around this new reality.

Some stories I want to highlight for you include the fashion feature from our new issue focused on statement-making wedding looks—the time is now to play with dress styles that are completely extra. You should also consider take your florals to the next level with whimsical arrangements in unconventional colours and textures. Floral genius Becky DeOliveira, owner of Blush and Bloom created 10 bouquets for us for this story and her creations are sublime.

http://www.paradiseevents.com/We have incredible inspiration for an autumn wedding with this styled shoot by Vancouver-based photographer Denise Lin and Paradise Events Inc. Skincare essentials to keep your skin clear and glowing. Some really incredible real weddings including this exquisite one at Toronto’s Arlington Estate and this one in British Columbia wine country which was actually a destination wedding for Kayla and Jonathan as they live in Alberta and wanted to travel somewhere in Canada for their multicultural celebration.

You may have noticed on your social feeds that pandemic engagements are definitely a huge thing—we spoke to four brides about how they are celebrating and planning for their weddings. We are also excited to take a first look at 2021 wedding trends! Guest columnist Katie Gregg of Katie Gregg Events shares her predictions for the year ahead—read her thoughts here.

We are so excited to see weddings getting back on track—happy planning!
