Unique Canadian Wedding Destination

British Columbia is definitely one of Canada’s most gorgeous provinces and out in the wilds there are some amazing resorts and lodges that put you right in the heart of the Canadian wilderness. One such property I was recently introduced to is Island Lake Lodge in Fernie, located in the southern end of the province, just a hop over the Alberta border. Mountains and cedar forests abound at this lodge property which offers amazing wedding packages allowing you to an all wilderness weekend there with your wedding party. The property has three lodges, which can sleep up to 48 guests in 26 rooms. Island Lake is a property that is virtually off the grid—no phones or TVs in guest rooms. It’s all about relaxing and getting back to nature, enjoying the spectacular scenery and amazing food at the lodge.
