We were thrilled to hear William and Catherine will be visiting Quebec City as part of their Canadian tour. Repeatedly named one of the “Top 10 Cities U.S. and Canada” in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards, Quebec City boasts the perfect combo of old-world romance and modern comfort. It is a place you immediately feel at home in and will want to come back to explore again and again. Some musts for the couple on their visit (and for you if you’re planning a Quebec City honeymoon): the Plains of Abraham, a visit to the Museum of Civilization, shopping the Petit Champlain district and experiencing as much fine Quebecois cuisine (hello, cheese!). Check out Quebec City Tourism for more info about Canada’s oldest and most beautiful cities.
WHERE TO STAY: We actually have two Quebec City hotels we love. The Auberge Saint-Antoine is a multi-award-winning Relais & Chateaux hotel located in the city’s Old Port area. The Auberge is a luxe 95-room boutique hotel that’s also part museum—full of artifacts (largely from the 18th & 19th century) found on-site when construction started on the property. Its in house resto Panache is not to be missed. One of the city’s most iconic properties is of course the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. This majestic castle stands high on a bluff overlooking the St. Lawrence and is located in the heart of Old Quebec City. For extra luxury book a room on the Fairmont Gold floor—it’s like a little hotel within the hotel with it’s own check in, lounge and sweet little extra amenities.
