Have you heard of Nevis? To be honest I hadn't heard of this tiny Caribbean island until recently. It's located in the West Indies, and its sister island is St. Kitts. Nevis itself only has a population of 10,000, is 36-square-miles and is known for its natural, unspoiled land. Unlike some of the other Caribbean islands, Nevis has rainforests, monkeys and ruins from the plantation era -- perfect if you want more than just stunning beaches for your honeymoon. There are a large range of accommodations on Nevis, from historic plantation inns to guest houses and five-star resorts. One resort that caught my eye was the Montpelier Plantation Resort, a restored 18th century plantation set on a 60-acre estate with 19 rooms.
The resort offers the best of both worlds -- set amongst the mountains, yet a private beach is at your doorstep. They recently opened their new tapas-style restaurant Indigo and also updated their spa. Other things you can do on your honeymoon there? Take a private guided tour in the rainforest, sign up for cooking lessons, play tennis at the on site courts, mountain bike, snorkel, play golf at a nearby course or even go horseback riding, it's all possible here. And of course you can sit on the beach or poolside and relax, or better yet book yourself in for a couples aromatherapy massage. Sounds pretty good, no? The resort offers a 7-night honeymoon package, complete with a massage for two and a romantic picnic with champagne. Until October 31st, we suggest you look into their "Never-Ending Honeymoon Package," which also includes a private island tour, relaxing massage, a grilled lobster lunch poolside and much more!
