In between the whirlwind of writing shower thank you notes (carpal tunnel syndrome, anyone?), booking cars for the Big Day (just say no to the white stretch limo) and shopping for wedding bands (classic gold for him, diamond eternity for moi), it has been easy to overlook Act II: The Honeymoon. Mr. Forever and I are off for two glorious weeks to discover Italy for the first time: The culture! The food! The wine! The designer outlet shopping! Needless to say, a chic Mediterranean-approved wardrobe is a must, which is why on a recent rainy evening I turned to Audrey Hepburn for help. Nothing says great summer style like Roman Holiday (1953), and while I don’t think my honey will be sipping his Barolo in a suit à la Gregory Peck (khakis and preppy button-downs are more his style), I plan on channeling my inner Hepburn. What are my Audrey essentials? Simple, knee-skimming day dresses, cropped trousers, a palette of tennis whites with accents of fuchsia and sunny yellow, woven espadrilles, a great white shirt, a straw tote and maybe, just maybe, a Moped.
