We love hotels and luxury stays—it's an escape from the everyday and something we have missed so very much in the last year. As restrictions are easing in many provinces and vaccine rollouts happening, hotels can't wait to see guests again and welcome them to their clean, safe, high-level protocol-practicing environments.
A hotel staycation is a wonderful way to escape the everyday and to celebrate an engagement or anniversary with a romantic getaway. In Montreal, the world's first Ritz-Carlton (Liz Taylor and Richard Burton tied the knot here in 1964) is currently offering a Romance Package, valid for the remainder of 2021. We spoke with Katia Piccolino, Director of Sales and Marketing, who explained why some brides-to-be recently booked a romantic stay. “Some of our 2020 brides had to postpone their big day, so they decided to celebrate their original wedding date with a romantic staycation, including a Maison Boulud in-room dinner served at a fancy table set for two, so it still made their planned wedding date special.”
Here's what you can expect for your romantic and ritzy stay.
Luxe Rooms
In 2012, for the 100th anniversary of the hotel, the Ritz-Carlton Montreal had a luxe makeover and in keeping its tradition of elevated style, each room is a modern take on classic luxury: spacious, sun-filled and sophisticated. Splurge on a suite for your special occasion to enjoy additional space and a cozy fireplace.
Romantic Details
The Ritz is known for its attention to detail. A romantic turndown service of rose petals sets the mood for your stay. The hotel also offers the services of reputed in-house florist, Alain Simon Fleurs. Custom floral arrangements will make your getaway all the more memorable.
Decadent In-Room Dining
The Romance Package includes in-room breakfast and since Maison Boulud, the hotel’s fine-dining restaurant, is currently unable to welcome guests, the famed contemporary French establishment is also a must for in-room dining. Enjoy locally-sourced ingredients integrated in the evolving menu created by renowned Chef Daniel Boulud’s team.
Relax à Deux
No stay at the Ritz-Carlton Montreal would be complete without a trip to the Spa St. James, one of the best spas in the city, which happens to be just an elevator ride away. Slip down to the expansive spa on the lower level to one of three Couples Retreat packages specifically designed to enhance your luxe experience.
Late Check-Out
Leaving the Ritz-Carlton Montreal is the hardest thing to do, that’s why the hotel is offering couples who book the Romance Package, a late checkout of 3pm instead of noon.
