Day 73: Our Royal Honeymoon Picks

Villa Cortez, One&Only Palmilla.

There has been lots of speculation where William and Kate will honeymoon with Kenya being one of the top spots it’s thought the couple might honeymoon. Just for fun, we asked our friends at Siren Communications, a Toronto PR agency that specializes in travel for their thoughts of possible places for Wills and Kate to escape to post-nups (no doubt these ideas will inspire you to think about choosing a spot for your own honeymoon). Here are five amazing suggestions:

Details: 8,500 square foot private four bedroom estate villa along the beachfront of the Sea of Cortez.

Perks: Comes with staff of 12 including a personal butler and chef, two housekeepers, two waiters, a driver, a nanny, a fitness trainer, a spa therapist and a second butler.  With custom menus, a home theatre, private spa and gym, and your very own golf cart, it is no wonder A-Listers book for their Mexican getaways.

One&Only Reethi Rah, Maldives.

2. Grand Water Villas at One&Only Reethi Rah, Maldives

Details: 32 Water Villas set above the clear waters of the lagoon, staffed by a personal villa host.

Perks: The Grand Water Villas at One&Only Reethi Rah in the Maldives are some of the most luxurious suites in the Indian Ocean and take the concept of island chic to new heights.  With their remote and secluded location, the royal couple won’t have to worry about being pestered by photographers or awe-struck admirers. Designed in an elegant contemporary style, the Grand Water Villas are among the largest resort villas in the world. Each Villa features its own private pool, outdoor covered terrace on stilts and split-level veranda with steps leading in to the ocean.  The Grand Water Villas also include 24-hour butler service and a personal buggy facility for those guests who wish to explore the island.

3. The Royal Villas at Half Moon, Jamaica

Details: Seven-bedroom colonial-style villa located near Montego Bay and along two miles of white sand beach. This 56-year-old resort combines old-world charm with modern touches to create a carefree sophistication that has set the standard for Caribbean getaways.

Perks: Fit for a soon-to-be-king, the aptly named Royal villas include a private pool, butler, chef and housekeeper and access to a golf cart for getting around the 400-acre compound. On the grounds, Wills and Kate can enjoy riding one of many award-winning horses at the resort’s Equestrian Centre, swim with the dolphins or have a private couple’s bush bath at Fern Tree, The Spa at Half Moon. No stranger to royal families and heads of state, Half Moon has hosted Prince Charles, Prince Phillip and HRH Queen Elizabeth II .

4. Ocean View Penthouse at The Crane Resort, Barbados

Details: The Ocean View Penthouse at The Crane Resort feature three bedrooms and four full bathrooms with central air-conditioning throughout. With sweeping views of the Atlantic and a private terrace and plunge pool, this is the honeymoon suite to fulfill the dreams of even the most royal bride and groom.

Perks: Barbados, often referred to as the most British of the Caribbean islands is the ideal choice for a royal honeymoon, and The Crane Resort, originally built in 1790 and opened as a hotel in 1887 has just the old-world elegance that would make the William and Kate feel at home. Their wedding day has been set for April 29th meaning they would arrive for their honeymoon at The Crane during the island’s Polo season, which is obviously a passion for William, and was visited last year by Prince Harry .
