  |   By Jen O'Brien

With stunning beaches, perfectly-preserved medieval villages clinging to rugged cliff sides, and views westward to awe-inspiring Mount Etna, Sicily's eastern coastline been called the fabled island’s answer to the Amalfi Coast and offers everything you could ask for in a honeymoon destination: great food, gorgeous scenery, fabulous weather and plenty of memorable activities to keep you busy.

Where to stay: Head straight to Taormina – this small town perched atop Monte Tauro has a fine selection of villas and B&Bs to choose from and the views of the sparkling coastline will take your breath away.

How to get there: Fly into Catania’s Fontanarossa Airport then board a bus for the hour-and-a-half-long ride up the mountain to Taormina or look for a Mediterranean cruise, like those offered by Silversea, that stops in the nearby port of Giardini Naxos.

Click through the slides below to see a snapshot of all that Taormina has to offer.
