Wedding Trend Alert: Country Chic Celebrations

  |   By Nicole Keen

Right now we're obsessed with stylish rustic weddings that feel fresh and effortless. Thinking of trying this theme for your big day? We've put together some pointers to help you host a party that's a little bit country and a whole lotta classy!

EMBRACE THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Plan for a ceremony under the wide-open sky (unless Mother Nature has other plans, of course!). A simple arrangement of chairs around a big old tree or a handmade wooden arch looks amazing, and you don't need much to spruce up a stunning natural setting. In case of rain, consider a venue that also offers an open barn. Weathered wood makes a fantastic backdrop for photographs, and your guests will enjoy dining under a ceiling of high wooden beams.

DON'T OVERDO THE DECOR

Speaking of which, barns look best when they're not overly decorated. Simple white paper lanterns or candles in suspended mason jars are all you really need to spruce up a rustic space.

CHOOSE PERSONAL DETAILS

When it comes to decor, incorporate quirky details like hand-painted signs and unique (budget-friendly) centrepieces. Instead of flowers, why not artfully arrange some grains in a jar (see above)? Check out the rest of this fabulous wedding here.

KEEP THINGS ELEGANT

Just because you're hosting a country celebration doesn't mean you have to have burlap and straw everywhere! Mix rustic elements with clean, crisp white linens and sparkling crystal. This combination of roughhewn pieces and sophisticated items is picture-perfect.
