Seasonal Ideas Guaranteed To Produce Great Wedding Photos

Ever wonder why it sometimes snows in April, or why our holiday season isn’t snowy white? It seems like it’s getting harder to predict what the weather will be like next week, not to mention in 12 to 18 months ahead of time when you're trying to select a wedding date. With the amount of time and effort you put into preparing for the big day, it would be quite a drag if our unpredictable weather were to take you by surprise. Not to worry though, we’ve compiled a few ideas you can use to counter some seasonal blunders, plus, a few more suggestions for highlighting the best features our ever-changing seasons have to offer.

Spring is notorious for rain showers, but you shouldn't let that put a damper on your day. Raindrops capture beautifully in photos and stormy skies can create an incredibly dramatic backdrop. Embrace a rainy wedding day by outfitting your bridesmaids in cute rubber rain boots and using umbrellas as photo props and aisle decor.

Summer days can be sweltering, and the thought of being sticky while saying your "I dos" can be panic-inducing. Offset the heat by offering cold beverages, parasols and fans that double as wedding programs at your ceremony to keep guests comfortable. And instead of a heavy midnight snack why not hire an ice cream truck to arrive at the reception with cool treats for your friends and family?

Autumn leaves can be gorgeous but the weather can also be gusty during this time of year. Take advantage of both the wind and the leaves by taking them into consideration when you're dreaming up unique wedding photo ideas. Why not have your guests throw handfuls of leaves instead of rice, confetti or rose petals after your ceremony?

Winter is a season that many brides shy away from but along with being a more affordable time to tie the knot it also offers plenty of thematic possibilities. Embrace the cold by outfitting your bridesmaids in stoles and cute winter boots, incorporate shimmering decor accents that mimick fallen snow (even if you don't see any on the big day) and opt for a horse-drawn carriage as your means of wedding transportation.

See how four inventive couples embraced the elements to create some truly imaginative seasonal wedding photos.
