Why register? It's simple, really. As soon as you announce your engagement your loved ones will want to celebrate with you. These celebrations (engagement parties, bridal showers, etc.) will inevitably involve gifts. Your guests will feel better knowing they are spending their money on things you actually want/need. Plus, you can avoid duplicate presents and save yourself the hassle of multiple returns once the party is over. Register at least six months before your wedding, and choose one or two stores that offer a wide variety of items.
