Wedding Cake Design Week Continues

  |   By Stephanie Gray

{She shares pertinent information about client consultations, the design process, cake tastings and wedding cake delivery.}

In continuation with Bonnie Gordon's wedding cake design week at the Bonnie Gordon School, Bonnie wanted to share with me more pictures of the cakes, that are now even further along. Also the class had the chance to hear from guest speaker Diana Shin of Papillon Cakes. Here's what Bonnie had to say:

"The lovely and talented Diana Shin of Papillon Cakes is working with our design students this morning! Diana is a wonderful guest speaker. Her experience working  as a high-end wedding planner and now as one of Canada's leading cake designers is invaluable."

{Fine details such as pearls hand-painted with 24K gold and a fine burgundy ruffle add a "designer" touch to this student wedding cake.}

{Painting with food grade paints directly onto the surface of a cake allows for unique individualized motifs. I am eager to see the completed cake!}

{Isn't it incredible how the original  leaves created yesterday are transformed into autumn leaves as rich fall tones are dusted onto the surface.}

{Dusting fall leaves.}

{The design challenge for this student is to create a wedding influenced by a vintage wedding gown.}
