Have you seen UP yet? Being the Pixar/Disney kid that I am, I braved the crowds opening weekend and all I can say is WOW!
Pixar is known for their stellar storytelling and UP brings that to a whole new level. There's adventure, humour and most of all heart, a very big one pumping at the film's core. Carl Frederickson is a lonely, widowed curmudgeon who lost his groove the day his beloved wife Elie passed away. The good news? He more than get's it back by the end of the 90-minute plus show, largely thanks to his new bestie, Russell, an adorable wilderness ranger who is simply too charming not to love. I must tell you the moments where this film shines the brightest is when Carl is reflecting back on his life with Elie. The start of the film features a touching retrospect of the couple's life together from the moment they say "I Do" forward. Bring the tissues and your mister along with you to see this one—UP is a sweet and lovely reminder of what marriage is all about.
