The Twitter on Elizabeth Hurley’s Engagement

It was announced over Twitter this weekend (as everything is these days) that Elizabeth Hurley and her beau Australian cricket star Shane Warne are engaged. The two sent out identical tweets thanking everyone for their “all your congratulations” then later confirmed their engagement to the press. Warne also tweeted about exactly how he popped the question when it was rumoured he asked for his lady-love’s hand in front of hundreds of people. “It was done privately and was very romantic—if I do say so myself. Ps left knee is sore!!!”

What Will Hurley Do The Second Time Around?

This will be Hurley’s second marriage and if you recall, her first to Arun Nayar was one of the most expensive and ostentatious celebrity weddings in history. The pair married in 2007, in not one, but two ceremonies. The first was an Anglican ceremony in front of 300 of their nearest in England at a medieval estate; the second in Jodhpur where a week of festivities ensued, with the couple hosting a minimum of 200 per night. The cost for everything: a cool $2.5 million!
