The Right Type

  |   By Roseanne Dela Rosa

It wasn't until I started working at Weddingbells that I realized my fondness for type (thank you art depot!). Aside from the typical Comic Sans MS (yes this increased my page count) or Times New Roman that I used for my school essays, I knew nothing about font types. But, boy do I love them now.

The Right Type

Enter Barbara Kua from Markham, Ontario. I'm so glad that I finally found a Canadian designer whom I can recommend to all of you. Her calligraphy skills are nothing short of superb. And, they're not all script-like either. Many of her styles are very distinct and can suit different personalities.

For example this style called Claire is definitely more for a whimsical/upbeat bride.

Whereas, this style called Olivia is for a more laid-back/zen bride. Agree?

And for the more elegant and traditional I highly recommend Barbara's Sophia style.

But if I had to absolutely choose my favourite it would be Katie. There's something so cute and fun about this font that definitely has "Rosie" written all over it.
