The Art of the Thank You

  |  By Alison McGill
The Art of the Thank You

Dempsey Press' quirky-cool thank you note.

Thank you. Two words that are so simple but mean so much. Saying thank you is just good form, proper manners, and as my mom would say, essential. A little gratitude goes a very, very long way. A wedding is an event that necessitates a lot of thank yous as there are so many people helping you to put your celebration together. I know you’ve heard this many times before, but I’m going to say it again—don’t forget to send out thank you cards post-wedding to all your guests who gave gifts! The old rule of thumb is that you have a year to get these out, but in my opinion the sooner you can get them done, the better.

No.

The Art of the Thank You

Set aside a day, or a few nights during the week to go down your list and get your thank yous done. Split the task between the two of you and you will have them done in a blink. I will tell you that thank you cards are something people love to receive after a wedding—and they also take note if one does not arrive! The little things really do mean a lot so don’t forget this one. On the note of thank yous, I wanted to share this cheeky and kitschy letterpress thank you note I found online designed by Ottawa’s Dempsey Press. Love this gem from Dempsey’s Ralphy the Robot ($24 for a package of 8) series, a bilingual message in both English and binary. Too quirky-cool! They have some great stationary…check them out.
