While Kat Aniol was planning her wedding in 2010, she had a hard time finding a company that could customize a sweet table to her wedding's 90s pink and black theme. "There were many extra fees tacked on," Aniol explains. "I ended up deciding to doing it on my own, and it happened to be a huge hit with my guests, both for the young who are excited at seeing so many delicious deserts and our more mature guests who were overwhelmed with nostalgia." After her wedding was over, having realized she loved putting her sweet table together, she saw the opportunity to turn creating sweet tables for weddings and events as a side-biz alongside her full-time job as a graphic designer.
In 2017, Aniol launched SweetEvent.ca and took her sweet table business full-time, catering to the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario. "I wanted to refocus my experience in graphic design as an edge to consistently customize the look and branding for each event," Aniol says. Candy bars, cotton candy and popcorn machine rentals, as well as hot chocolate stations, macaron walls and doughnut walls are just some of the sweet treats the company has to offer, with personalized labels, takeout boxes and displays to ensure the table matches the theme of your wedding.
The company prides itself in transparent pricing, which you can find on the site, basic personalization included in every order, and coming up with new an innovative ways to display treats. "We launched our custom-made acrylic French macaron walls late last year, which are a big hit," Aniol says. She also hints at exciting future offerings, including custom sweet engravings.
