Winter bridal receptions can traditionally be grandiose but this creative shoot was designed to show you how a minimalist, Scandinavian vibe can be equally inviting. In addition, the creative team called on body-positive influencer and model Marilyn Dunn to showcase a romantic, décolleté-revealing gown which celebrates a sometimes all-to-rare body-diversity moment for the wedding industry. Quebec wedding photographer Cathy Lessard explains why she chose to feature a curve-friendly model: “Marilyn is a gorgeous woman and she embodies the value of self-love that I would like to invoke in all the brides I photograph because I find every one of them magnificent! "
Marilyn is wearing a dress from the recent collection of inclusive sizes at Dream It Yourself, a by-appointment bridal boutique in Montreal. Her bridal look was crowned with a delicate headband from the boutique and a minimal beauty style by makeup artist Joany Boivin.
The decor and tablescape were inspired by the Scandinavian lifestyle buzzword "hygge": soft, cozy and comforting. Wedding stylist, La Vie Est Une Fête, created the cozy setting where you can imagine having intimate conversations over dinner with your favorite people.
For the ceremony background, the team created an enchanted winter forest with birch tree branches, pine boughs, magnolia leaves and white roses. “The scene created by Elodie Fleuriste gives one the impression of arriving in a magical forest where anything can happen,” described Cathy.
Finally, Lafleur Sucrée's winter-white desserts adorned with a hint of gold, and her elegant floral-embellished cake are the crowning jewels to this winter scene.
