When it comes to your wedding theme and decor, it's fun to step out of the box. In fact, some of the best wedding designs we've seen have been inspired by a favourite movie, an iconic style or the venue itself. That's exactly what Marianne Noh of Dukes & Daisies Designs had in mind when putting together this minimalism-is-more styled shoot at the Shangri-La Hotel in Toronto. The film The Grand Budapest Hotel was the main inspiration for the shoot, which features a colour palette of pinks, whites and pops of dark purple, inspired by the director Wes Anderson. "Clean lines, contemporary aesthetic, repetition and luxury over quantity draw your eye to the beauty in details, and their simplicity," Noh shares. "Like the venue, the design shows the perfection in contradiction—like the pairing of modern with tradition, east with west, and urban with rural." When picking out pieces for the models to wear, Noh wanted the attire to have a youthful sophistication and casual elegance. "We wanted to show that thoughtful details can have a big impact."
