I love the true natural beauty that all flowers have to offer. I am not a huge fan of stem died product or paints. But I also love a consistent theme to a wedding. Colours that coordinate the linens, the invitations, the bridesmaid dresses, the cake, and of course through to the flowers!
So, my general rule of thumb is: If you can't tell it's not natural, what harm is there in a little paint?
This is not a license to paint everything! A lot of flowers do not take colour well. If you are doing your florals yourself, test weeks ahead of the wedding to make sure you like it. And remember, paint shortens the life of all flowers, so it is best for event use only. Spray using light coats until you get the desired colour. It takes time, but it is worth it. And, last but not least, buy the paint from a florist. Any paint does not work. You must get one that is made for flowers.
Other then all those little rules, have fun! And, no, there is no such thing as purple berzillia berries. :)
