A Playful, Design-Focused Bakery In Vancouver

  |   By Jean Grant

Kylie Mangles is a self-described confectionery artist, food stylist and designer who used to own a graphic design company before launching the super-popular Vancouver brand Letterpress Bakery five years ago. She’s become known for using her artistic chops to craft insanely realistic takes on cakes that resemble characters like Elsa from Frozen or Sully from Monster’s Inc. Her cartoon recreations regularly go viral, but baking a wedding cake for a friend is what originally spurred her to switch careers. Mangles’ online bridal portfolio is full of buttercream tiers adorned with fresh flowers and quirkier creations inspired by Lego, or the circus. With a flavour menu to die for, brides can trust their dessert will taste even better than it looks. Custom cakes start at $6 per serving.
