Chef Andrea Carlson opened her restaurant Burdock and Co. in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood in 2013. Known for a commitment to local cuisine, the restaurant has emerged as a popular venue for couples in search of organic farm-to-table menus and a naturalist wine list to die for (they won a platinum award for “wine program excellence” at the Vancouver International Wine Festival last year).
A few of their signature dishes include fried purple sprouted broccoli, Desolation Sound oysters and braised lamb ribs with wild dandelion. The beautifully rustic space can hold 34 seated guests, meaning it’s perfect for a rehearsal dinner—or for anyone who needs an excuse to keep the guest list tiny.
