Wedding stationery is an important detail that shouldn't be overlooked. From the moment your guests open their invitations to the signage and menu cards they'll see on the day-of, your stationery sets the tone for your celebration and ties your wedding theme together.
We've seen some seriously gorgeous wedding stationery, and one of our favourite companies for luxe craftmanship and whimsical designs is Ferris Wheel Press. Tackling one of the hottest colour trends for weddings this year, their pink and red wedding stationery takes personalization to a new level. The brand's deconstructed place card are particularly cool, doubling as packaging for petite wedding favours.
When it comes to adding unique touches, it's all about working with your stationery designers to come up with some great ideas. "In an age were most guests have 'seen it all', especially in the presence of social media, it's all about creating a guest experience that tells a personal story," says Jimmy Yu, brand manager at Ferris Wheel Press. "What we've been doing is helping couples incorporate these personalized touches where it's not expected. For example, creating beautiful paper displays for the centrepieces with intricately laser cut designs that tie in the theme."
In some cases, Yu says, compelling graphic designs and illustrations even replace traditional decor for a refreshing aesthetic. "An example of this is when we've created a large custom vinyl design as a backdrop, versus a traditional pipe and drape."
According to Ferris Wheel Press, some other stationery trends include tropical foliage, boho-rustic invitations with modern calligraphy, and paper with unfinished edges. But what's most important, says Yu, is elevating a design beyond what's popular, and choosing a design that speaks to you. "We are all about creating meaningful and thoughtful designs that speak to the narrative of each couple's story," Yu shares. "Create something that you'll fall in love with over and over again, and that gives you the same feeling when you look at it in five years, 10 years, and 20 years."
