Everything You Should Tell Your Wedding Party Before Your Big Day

Everything You Should Tell Your Wedding Party Before Your Big Day

Planning the itinerary for your wedding day means ensuring that everyone participating in the ceremony is ready for everything leading up to and during the day. While it’s easy to assume your squad will be completely prepared for the day you don’t want to leave anything to chance. You should provide your wedding party with all of the information that they’ll need so that there are no mistakes and nothing slips through the cracks on the big day. This will keep everyone organized and take stress off of your party as they prepare with you to celebrate.

One simple way to ensure that everyone is prepared for the big day is to provide your entire party with a condensed sheet (or email) that has all of the information that they’ll require:

A Timeline The time of the ceremony is only one piece of the puzzle! If the bridesmaids or groomsmen are getting ready together in the morning this should be listed for them. Photographs, make-up, celebratory drinks, should all be included on this timeline. Ensure that your party has a complete layout of the day so that they are prepared to be exactly where you need them.

What To Bring This may seem like a no-brainer, but you don’t want to leave anything to chance! Do the groomsmen need their own socks or are you providing a matching set? Do they need to plan for their own lunch and snacks on the morning of the big day? Let everyone know what they should be preparing as the day commences.

What’s Provided If you are planning on sharing a breakfast meal or supplying a hairdresser for your bridesmaids you should let them know. Just as you should let your party know what they should be preparing to bring, you provide a list to let them know what you will be supplying, including any meals, hair, make-up artists etc.

To Do List Let your party know exactly what they’ll be doing the morning of the big day. Do they have additional responsibilities? Add them to the list. Having everything in one place will ensure that nothing is forgotten.

Party Contact Information Although your wedding party may know each other, supplying all phone numbers keeps everyone connected. This helps to ensure no one gets lost, loses anything or is left without answers. You’ll be too busy on your big day to field all of the questions that your party will be calling for.

Venue / Reception Information Including the address and phone number of your ceremony venue and reception hall are important and cannot be included on too many pieces of information.

Additional Information If there are any important vendors that your party may need to be in contact with you should supply their information as well. If your bridesmaids are in charge of keeping track of the florals, share your florists number. If you need to have a member of your party transport a relative to the reception, share that information.

Any other additional information, such as a wedding hashtag, that you think may be important for your party to have should be included. It’s better to include more than your party will need, than to have any confusion on your big day. Part of your party’s job is to keep the wedding running smoothly, with an itinerary of all of this information you will ensure that they’re ready to help you have the wedding of your dreams.
