With just 42 days to go, Kate is definitely in the midst of shower season, so why not host one in her honour? What fabulous and fun reason to gather your favourite girls together for an afternoon tea party, all in the British tradition of course. High tea is something we ladies at Weddingbells particularly love and I have been know to host a few tea parties myself and have found it is one of the most fabulous and easy ways to entertain.
For your royal tea party celebration, there are a few things that are an absolute must.
1. Finger sandwiches. Cucumber and cream cheese, cheese and pickle, turkey and cranberry and salmon are just a few traditional faves. Crusts off, cut in quarters of course.
2. Scones. These are essential and so too is a gourmet jam (we suggest raspberry, bramble or marmalade) and clotted cream. Serve scones warm, top with jam then cream. DELISH.
3. Petit Fours. The sweets portion of your tea can feature anything from mini-eclairs to tarts, squares and cupcakes, but we absolutely must insist you include petit fours in the mix. They are pretty, sweet and such a special treat.
4. Loose leaf tea. Forget tea bags, for a proper tea party you need loose tea and a few different varieties of it to offer your guests. A traditional black tea, green tea and a fruity tisane make for a great mix.
Happy celebrating!
