Classy Cakes

For those of you THINKING of DIY-ing your own confection, Wilton has a few basic recipes and ideas online that you may consider for your wedding cake. I did a little experiment on the weekend where I created a one-tier, sweet and simple, fondant confection. The result? A gorgeous and delicious treat–but boy was it difficult. I definitely encourage you to try one of their more basic recipes before your dive further into the world of advanced cake decorating. Or, check out your local colleges for weekend classes where I'm sure they can give you a better handle on what to do and what NOT to do.
