Canada's Coolest Cupcakes
When we set out on the search for Canada's Coolest Cupcakes we were looking for confectionery designs that went beyond chocolate or vanilla hand-held confections topped with a swirl of icing. We were looking for the (butter) cream of the crop. We tracked down cupcake designers from coast to coast who are baking up alternatives to the norm, tempting their clients with never-before-seen flavours and forms. We asked these designers to let their imaginations run wild and create for us something totally outside the cupcake box. The submissions we received are a collection of truly inspiring edible artworks that could turn any dessert table into a showpiece. Adorned with everything from rice paper doilies and golden frames to custom cookies and hand-formed fondant petals and pearls, our featured designers drew inspiration from things like wallpaper, classic tattoo flash, stamp collections and fashion runways.
