It’s official! After dating on and off for eight years (the couple split briefly in 2007), Kate Middleton and Prince William are finally set to wed! While there is no official date as of yet, an official statement confirmed that the wedding will take place in the Spring or Summer of 2011. The bride and groom, both 28 got engaged in October “during a private holiday in Kenya.” The Prince went the traditional route and asked for permission from Kate’s father Michael Middleton, and informed “The Queen and other close members of his family.” As for the royal couples’ post-wedding plans, they will live in north Wales and the groom-to-be will continue his service with the Royal Air Force.
“Everyone is absolutely delighted. He has never had eyes for any other woman since Kate came on the scene,” an old friend tells People.com. “She is going to make a wonderful wife, a wonderful princess.”

The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton.
The wedding will take place in the Spring or Summer of 2011, in London. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.
Prince William and Miss Middleton became engaged in October during a private holiday in Kenya. Prince William has informed The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince William has also sought the permission of Miss Middleton's father.
Following the marriage, the couple will live in north Wales, where Prince William will continue to serve with the Royal Air Force.
