Meisel Bailon of M Element Events shares the inspiration for this shoot was a collaboration between herself a photographer Eunice Chan —the pair wanted to showcase a gorgeous winter elopement celebrating Lunar New Year. “We had great fun with this shoot infusing cultural elements into wedding design,” Bailon shares. “The shoot was also a great opportunity for us to pur our spin on intimate weddings and elopement and how elopements can provide the freedom to intentionally plan your day.”
Bailon says the team found their perfect shoot location with a cabin in the woods at Pine Reeve Co. A fresh blanket of snow- and snow-covered trees created a magical backdrop. One of the elements that added a cultural touch was the red lanterns which symbolizes happiness, prosperity and good fortune in the Asian culture. The bride wore two dresses by Toronto designers, a traditional dress called Cheongsam by Alice Ko and a sophisticated and modern wedding dress by Aurelia Hoang. The beautiful bouquet by Thyme Studio gave a pop of colour amidst the white surroundings. From the gorgeous invitation suite and elegant lantern cake design to the smallest details such as the chopsticks and sweet treats, every element were personalized. Bailon also adds the models are a real-life couple so they brought extra magic to this shoot!
