A Dreamy, Minimalist Styled Shoot
“The vision for this shoot was to create a warm, nostalgic feeling using a timeless colour palette,” shares photographer Erin Leydon who was also the one of the creative minds who dreamed up the concept for this stunning shoot. Shot on location at the exclusive Lune 1860 event venue in Goderich, Ontario (the venue is a gorgeous 1860 Italianate style home situated on 88-acres of lush countryside) exclusively using the iPhone 12 Pro Max, Leydon shares the team used the space and all its magical natural lighting to their advantage.
“Our main light source came from the home’s large open windows,” Leydon says. We approached the photo shoot with the intention of showcasing the modern day and current bride in a minimal form.”
Leydon says using the newest iPhone to capture this shoot and all the gorgeous light play at made her job an easy one. “I could easily change perspectives for my shots so effortlessly—moving from wide angle to portrait mode for example was a seamless transition. It was similar to changing lenses on my DSLR but so much quicker and efficient. With this device, you literally have a camera capable of creating beautiful images always handy, right there in your pocket. That's part of the reason why I'll always have it with me to use a part of my shoots.”
As part of the shoot, Leydon also produced a short behind-the-scenes video which she also shot and produced with iPhone 12 Pro Max. “Shooting video was virtually no different than it is to focus and expose for a still photo. I was so impressed with how well it captured vibrant colours and warm light.”
