#966: Getting congratulated on your engagement from random folks

  |   By Roseanne Dela Rosa

It's always heartwarming to hear congratulations from your friends and family on your engagement. But, whenever you hear it from people, unexpected people, the feeling is different–awesome–but definitely different. I think it's because you don't expect it to happen that you're hit with a "awww" they congratulated us type of feeling. Here's a classic example from Juliette, a recently married bride:

"Crossing the border and telling the border guard that your reason for going to Boston is because you just got engaged and the border guard wishing you all the best! That was cute! But just getting well-wishes in general!"

Another great example comes from our art director Jenn (who just got engaged on the weekend to Dave–CONGRATS YOU TWO!). Right after their engagement, Jenn and Dave went to the restaurant where they had their very first drink together. The bartender realized they got engaged and congratulated them with champagne! So awesome.
