'Tis the season when Christmas wedding favours are becoming de rigueur, but instead of purchasing seasonal gifts for your guests why not make them yourself? Wedding craft guru and stationery designer Debra Norton from Vintage Paper Parade has dreamed up a collection of ultra-simple DIY Christmas wedding favours that you can create at home using washi tape. What is washi tape you ask? It's a decorative adhesive tape, which originated in Japan is typically made from natural fibers, such as bamboo, hemp or the bark of mulberry trees, mitsumata shrubs or gampi trees. Washi tape comes in a variety of patterns, designs and colours so you shouldn't have a problem finding tape that perfectly suits your theme and colour scheme. You can find this decorative tape at most craft suppliers as well as on Etsy.
Click through the slides below to see how Debra transformed a simple ivory candle, a dollar store vase and a rather hum-drum glass ornament into gorgeous festive Christmas wedding favours using washi tape. And rest assured, these wedding crafts are extremely simple to undertake (the most complicated one involves three steps, two of which are measuring and cutting the tape) -- one is even as easy as bundling cutlery together with washi tape to add some decorative appeal to your buffet tables!
