{An example of the new atelier store}
Just last week I had the opportunity to visit one of Yves Rocher's new atelier stores at Square One in Mississauga. It's the first of its kind in Ontario (current stores will be transformed in the next three years) and will be the beginning of a new era for the botanical beauty brand. Originating in the small village of La Gacilly, France in 1959, Mr. Yves Rocher started developing and creating products right out of his attic. His mission: make plant-based beauty products and have it be accessible to every woman. From skin care to makeup and fragrances, Yves Rocher utilizes both inspiration and ingredients from nature to develop its products. It's hard not to love that!
Another thing we love about Yves Rocher is their commitment to the environment. For example they don't use endangered plants, don't test on animals and 30% of the plants in their products come from organic fields in La Gacilly. Most recently, to celebrate 50 years and in conjunction with their Plant for the Planet initiative, they have a goal of planting 50 million trees in the next five years. To aid in this effort they've developed a "I ♥ My Planet" shampoo. When customers buy the shampoo a tree will be planted.
Another cool feature about their stores you may not know about is they offer spa treatments, which will be more obvious in the new design. When I popped in, I really enjoyed the new look of the store. It felt very green, very fresh and inviting. I, of course had to browse around and found tons of great stuff (at really affordable prices -- ex. mini nail polishes for $3; Fruity Jelly Hair and Body Wash for $4; Rosy Cheek Effect bush for $6). So many finds! Definitely great if you need a little beauty pick-me-up without breaking the wedding bank.
Right now we also have an Yves Rocher contest on (it closes this Friday) for a chance to win one of three So Elixir beauty baskets. Time to enter!
