Would You Mind If Your Bridesmaids Wore Recycled Dresses?

  |   By Jen O'Brien

The newest LBD to hit the market is a whole lot more practical and cost-effective than its predecessors: It's the Little Borrowed Dress. The Little Borrowed Dress is the brainchild of Corie Hardee who found herself wondering why groomsmen could rent wedding attire but bridesmaids were always forced to fork over cash for a new gown. From these musings came her website -- a place where bridesmaids can rent classic dresses in a myriad of colours and return them after the big event.

Here's how it works Have your ladies in waiting browse through the dress samples online and tweet or post their favourites on Facebook for approval. Your bridesmaids can even request fabric swatches from the company so you can confirm the colours will mesh with the grand scheme of the wedding. To ensure a perfect fit prior to the wedding, fitting dresses can be ordered beforehand to determine sizing. Once the perfect dress is selected your bridesmaids can make their reservations and the chosen dress will arrive at least seven days prior to the wedding.

The best part Once the event is over all your girls have to do is drop their dresses into return envelopes (complete with prepaid postage!) and send them back to the company...Little Borrowed Dress will even handle the cleaning! And of course you can go ahead and check "something borrowed" off your list of necessary wedding accoutrements.
