There are tons of beautiful new wedding dress trends to report from the runways of New York where designers presented their fall 2013 collections last week. We were in the city for bridal market to see all the gorgeousness in person and it’s interesting how, for so many seasons, we saw virtually no change in bridal silhouettes—strapless ballgowns were the style of choice for designers for years—until now. The Royal Wedding had a huge impact on wedding dress trends and it seems designers have decided to shake things up and explore new cuts, fabrics, colours and textures. We have cast our expert eye on all of the new collections and come up with a shortlist of 15 of the biggest bridal fashion trends for the year ahead. Every designer who presented for fall 2013 included at least one of these in his or her collection, if not several.

Sleeves, back detailing, glitter, ruffled layers, lace, belts, dramatic veils, asymmetry and mermaid gowns are all among the notable wedding dress trends for 2013.
