Vera Wang never ceases to amaze (previous show-stopping bridal collections have featured bright red wedding dresses and black lace wedding dresses). For that reason, Vera Wang's bridal runway show is one of the most anticipated events of New York market---and she sure lived up to the billing this season. The program notes promised a "graphic play of black and white", and the ensuing bridal gowns were daring, bold and beautiful. Many dresses featured colour-blocking (black bodices with white skirts), while others boasted graphic patterns, like a white ballgown with a black stripe down the centre. Even the all-white gowns (which were clean, streamlined and architectural) were accessorized with dramatic black leather gloves. In addition to black and white, Vera Wang's Spring 2014 collection also focused on "new laces" that boasted super-modern floral shapes. Speaking of shapes, Vera Wang played with volume for Spring, incorporating everything from sleek, sexy sheath dresses with high necks to corseted, billowing ballgowns into the collection.
