The Vera Wang Bridal Fall 2013 collection was arguably one of the most shocking we've seen from the designer in years. Having released an entire collection full of colour just last season, Vera Wang -- long synonymous with modern, edgy bridal couture -- revealed her dramatic return to traditional, as white and ivory gowns were sequentially paraded down the runway, without so much as a coloured sash in sight. What the Vera Wang Bridal Fall 2013 collection lacked in colour, however, it made up in abundance of avant garde details, including Wang's signature organza flanges rippling from several gowns. Adamantly modern corsets were also featured throughout the Vera Wang Bridal Fall 2013 collection, with geometric stitching to contrast the masses of more traditional tulle. While the Vera Wang Bridal Fall 2013 collection may have showcased decidedly robust, full-bodied gowns, her popular mermaid alternatives were not forgotten. An otherwise ordinary trumpet dress was given the Vera Wang treatment with 3D lace effects and a billowing bolero; another contained a massive ruffled flare and lace illusion neckline. With bridal couturiers clamouring for classic left and right this season, Vera Wang embraced traditional, but on her own terms. A mesh between old school and ultra-modern, the Vera Wang Bridal Fall 2013 collection stitched together two contrasting aesthetics. Whether you love it or hate it, everyone can agree that, true to form, Vera Wang was anything but boring this season.
