Theia Spring 2017 Wedding Dresses

Inspired by a Rafal Makiela photograph of a white-cloaked figure floating in a silvery sea, the Theia spring 2017 collection epitomizes all things ethereal, divine and radiant white. With plenty of shining silver details and icy-white hues, the gowns exude both futuristic sophistication and timeless elegance.

David Bowie served as a muse for the collection, lending a unique and galactic feel to the gowns. The beloved artist’s starring role in the 1976 science fiction film The Man Who Fell to Earth informed the cosmic, space-age look, which was offset by all the grace and refinement of bygone times. Crystal quartz details helped to tie together the themes of the ancient past and the new age, serving as a nod to the stone’s spiritual and healing uses. Other elements like plasticized nylon, fitted silk jacquard and delicate crystallized patterns embroidered into raffia created a stunning fusion of old and new.
