For many of you, the wedding dress is one of the biggest decisions (and causes of stress) leading up to the big day. You want to look fabulous, but you don’t want to have to sacrifice designer names and beautiful style for your big day, and the costs of some of the dresses out there are staggering!

The Dress For Less

Increasingly, after shopping and trying on in stores, many brides are going online to find the dress of their dreams, hopefully at a reduced price, and yes, sometimes used. When you think about it, most wedding dresses are only worn for about eight hours (and sometimes less!) so they are generally in great condition. With this in mind, buying used can be a great way to get a designer dress for about 50% less.

If you do decide to search online, there are tons of options out there, from Ebay, Craigslist and Kijiji, to smaller boutique wedding classified sites like SmartBrideBoutique. Plus, many of these sites have both new and used dresses, and the prices are always less than retail.

When there are brand new dresses on these sites, it’s not always a sad news story. More often than not, I have heard of many brides experiencing the “tale of two dresses”. There are actually many brides out there who have purchased two dresses for a range of reasons: the style of their original dress no longer suits their theme, the bride kept shopping and found two dream dresses, etc. etc. One of my friends actually had this happen to her (true story) and so she is now selling one of them, brand new with tags for $500 less than retail. If you happen want a modern, sexy and sophisticated look for your big day, you might want to consider this Size 8 Cybelline Agadir wedding gown.

Beyond that, there are many more designer gowns available at great prices….check some of these out!
