The Dream Dress

The Dream Dress

Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal recently wed longtime boyfriend actor Peter Sarsgaard. Like many recent celebrity nuptials it was intimate, luxurious and overseas! It all happened at Convento di Santa Maria di Costantinopoli, a bed and breakfast in Brindisi, Italy last Saturday, according to people.com.

The Dream Dress

Only 40 guests attended including Maggie's brother Jake and his girlfriend Reese Witherspoon. Hopefully this will encourage Jake to pop the question—aren't they adorable? To my dismay there have been no details about the dress. Maggie recently told Marie Claire in an interview that, "I want the fairy tale. I've had so many different incarnations of my fantasy wedding dress." In the spirit of Maggie's incredible fashion sense (remember her one-shoulder leopard print Lanvin at the Golden Globes?) I've come up with four gowns seen on the Fall/Winter 2009 runways that I think she would have rocked. Why? Being very fashion-forward and having an intimate ceremony, I think she would have wanted something with unique details, but not over-the-top princess (not really appropriate for that type of setting). My #1 is definitely the one-shoulder Carolina Herrera. I love that it's one-shoulder, the ruffle details are so pretty and the black ribbon adds a unique flair.

What do you think? How would you have dressed Maggie for her wedding?
