The Coolest Couple’s Wedding Style

Toronto-based photographers Erin Leydon and Mitch Syer were engaged last summer. “I had originally planned to propose while we were away on a trip together, but I decided to improvise instead and did it at home in Toronto at sunrise,” Mitch shares. “I told Erin we were going to shoot portraits of each other while the sun came up. Just as she was distracted with her eye looking through the lens pointed at me, I raised my hands and opened the box! We definitely have an idea of what our wedding day will look like, but with all the uncertainty right now, we are focused on enjoying being engaged for the next little while.”

Erin has been shooting weddings for 13 years and says one of the many things she loves about her job is being part of such an meaningful and joyful day. “I shot my very first wedding two months into my first year at university and haven’t stopped,” Erin says. “Mitch and I shoot every wedding together now; we genuinely enjoy working together. We love our job, the amazing people we meet and being a part of a day that is full of love.”

We asked Erin and Mitch to turn the lens on themselves to showcase the coolest couple’s wedding style. “I would describe my bridal style as being modern, classic, vintage and romantic—it was so much fun trying on all the looks for this shoot and being on the other side of the camera,” laughs Erin. “I loved all my looks!”
