It’s been a fashionable week here at the office, with us editors popping in and out of Toronto’s L’Oréal Fashion Week checking out what’s hot for spring. I went to Joeffer Caoc (simple and stunning); Stephanie checked out Pink Tartan (Mad Men inspired); and we all had a ticket to the most talked about show of the week, Alfred Sung Bridals.
The White 2009 collection marked Alfred’s return to the runway after an absence of 15 years. He sent out 32 dresses on 32 models and the mood of the collection was decidedly light and feminine. There was exquisite detailing like tiny pearls, crystals and lace insets. Classic strapless princess gowns, but also halter necklines and cap sleeves. The bridal beauty vibe was classic and feminine. Hair was slicked back into simple ballerina buns and topped with satin headbands; makeup was fresh and dewy, applied with a light touch. We were thrilled to be able to take along some of you Weddingbells visitors to the show, and for all of you that weren’t there, we’ve got complete show coverage and backstage footage, which we’re currently editing into a nice little video package. Look for it on weddingbells.ca in the next few weeks.
