Bold and bright lips were all over the bridal (and fashion runways) for Spring & Summer 2011. Just take a peek at bridal designer collections Carolina Herrera, Jewel and Platinum. While over in the ready-to-wear, Diane Von Furstenberg, Marni, Vena Cava and Monique Lhuillier, all added a major pop of colour over the models' pouts. Last night at the Hollywood premiere of The Green Hornet, Cameron Diaz not only stood out with her scarlet one-shoulder dress, but her pink pout. If you're starting to think about your makeup for the big day, a pink lip is super-girly, yet still classic.
Don't be overwhelmed by the shade, it's easier to wear than you think. However, you can always go on the lighter side of the spectrum for the ceremony and pictures, then up the hue come the reception. What shades to consider? To get the look try M.A.C. lipstick in Impassioned ($18) for a deeper fuschia, or Viva Glam Gaga lipglass ($18) for a softer pink (it's also the same shade M.A.C. artists used on models at Monique Lhuiller's Spring 2011 ready-to-wear collection). For a splurge consider Tom Ford's Private Blend lipstick in Pure Pink ($52), available at Holt Renfrew.
