Spring 2011 Runways: J. Mendel

Tomorrow is the last day of the Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week, and so far we've been loving Victoria Beckham's sophisticated wedding-friendly dresses, NARS makeup for Thakoon and Tom Ford's Pure Pink lipstick after seeing so many bright pink lips on the runways. You'd be surprised just how much bridal inspiration you can find on the fashion runways -- not just the bridal ones. Most recently I was checking out J. Mendel's Spring 2011 collection, a designer who also has branched out into the wedding realm. In his ready-to-wear show he featured light, and airy gowns (some practically sheer) in muted, pastel hues like blue, pink, creme, white -- many looks accessorized with punchy orange shoes and coral lips. Other note-worthy pieces included the fur-capped sleeves and blue cotton candy vests. Between the short and sweet dresses (perfect for a destination wedding) and the long and ethereal gowns, there were tons of gorgeous silhouettes, shades and details to get inspired from.
