As you've probably heard many times before, suntanning is a beauty no-no. While it may look good when you're young, it's a one-way ticket to looking old, fast (hello wrinkles), not to mention the increased risks of skin cancer. Brushing on a little bronzer is an easy way to get a glow, minus the damage, while self tanners have come a long way from bad orange streaks. Of course there is no reason you have to look like you bask in the sun either, a little sun-kissed look for a summer bride is subtle, yet pretty.
One product I recently discovered is from the Canadian cosmetics company Quo, which is available at Shoppers Drug Mart. Their Savannah Shimmer Body Glow, which is part of their new summer collection has a touch of pink, a very light fragrance and a soft shimmer. I'm not really into sparkles (that can sometimes look too young), but thought this cream had just enough of a glimmer to really brighten up the skin. A while back I interviewed makeup artist David Goveia, who offered up eight bridal beauty tips, including using a highlighter to enhance the skin. This would definitely do the trick! I suggest following David's advice and concentrate on the places on your body you want to enhance (not all over your body). I'm going to give it a whirl at this Thursday's 25th Anniversary party, so I'll let you know how it turns out.
